The 18-hole Costa Ballena course was designed by José María Olazábal and is characterised by spacious tees and for its suitability for professionals and high handicappers alike. Water is a major feature. There are four lakes and the green at the par-three 16th is virtually an island. The course, which opened in 1997, is set amid a residential and touristic development of the same name. Costa Ballena also offers a nine-hole short course. Holes: 27 Par: 72
